1. You should avoid leaving your wet swimsuit in a plastic bag for an extended period of time and wrap it in a towel or fabric instead to prevent bad odors.
2. Bathing suits should be hand washed in cool water with a gentle detergent (Dr. Bronner's is our favorite). Pour cool water into a basin, add a few drops of your detergent of choice, and gently work the soap into the fabric. Let it sit for about 10 minutes in the soapy water before rinsing with cold water.
3. It is important to handle your swimwear with care during and after washing so that it retains its shape. Once it has been washed, gently wring it and allow it to dry on a flat surface (ideally on a towel) out of the sun to prevent fading.
4. Avoid using bleach or harsh detergent on your swimwear. To remove stains from your bathing suit, apply a gentle detergent directly into the stained spot while hand-washing and gently massage the soap into the stain to lift it. Scrubbing and harsh detergents will only ruin your suit.
5. If you can, wash your bathing suit after every use. If you can't wash it every time, you should rinse it in cool water as soon as possible after wearing.
6. There is never a need to iron or dry clean your bathing suit.
